Eye Laser Surgery

Eye laser surgery is to help those who are long or near sighted, has astigmatism, degenerative diseases or medically necessary treatments. The procedure uses laser to reshape the surface of the eyes and helps your vision to be better than before. Laser eye surgery is a permanent procedure that can last your whole life, however most peoples vision will get worse over time due to aging.

Lasik surgery
This is one of the most common procedures. Lasik surgery can improve the vision for the nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatism. The procedure takes around 30 min for both eyes, the doctor gives numbing eye drops and replaces the corneal flap after its been reshaped. People can usually resume with their life the day after surgery but should take it easy for a couple of days or weeks.

The criteria to be a good candidate for Lasik surgery:
18 years of age.
Have a good eye health because this can affect how your eyes respond to the surgery and healing. Such conditions could be pink eye, dry eye syndrome or eye injuries.
You also need to have a stable prescription for at least one year prior to the surgery.
Have sufficient thickness in your cornea.
To know for sure if you are a good candidate for surgery is to see an eye doctor for an eye exam.

Cataract surgery
A cataract is a cloudy area of the eyes natural lens and is very common as you get older. Most people with cataract will need a surgery eventually. It is only performed once the cataract is large enough and this can take years after the diagnosis.
With a cataract surgery the doctor gives you numbing eye drops and removes the eyes natural lens and replaces it with an artificial lens. It takes around a month or two to recover fully after the surgery.

Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery to remove excess skin to improve the appearance of the eyelids. This is most often a cosmetic procedure that can make you look younger, have less wrinkles and reduce the appearance of baggy eyes. With age the skin around the eyes stretch and the muscles weakens, this can cause peripheral vision problems. Once you have done the procedure it can last for a lifetime and for others this can recur.
