Just like you would screenshot on your phone you can do it on your laptop and in this case a MacBook. You can take a screenshot on your entire screen or or just a portion of the screen.

How to take a full screen screenshot:
With the keys Shift+Command+3 your MAC will take a screenshot.
When you take the screenshot, you’ll see a small thumbnail preview in the bottom-Right corner which you can click to edit the picture. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop and from there you can edit the picture, send it or just save it where it is.
How to screenshot a specific part of the screen:
Press the keys Shift+Command+4 and a symbol will appear.
Press Down your mouse and drag it over the part of the screen you want to capture and then release to take the screenshot. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop.
To cancel taking the screenshot just press the Esc key.

How to screenshot a window:
Press the Shift+Command+4 and then the space bar.
The mouse will turn into a camera and you hover cover the window you want to screenshot and click on it to take a screenshot on that window.

Use the Screenshot menu: For the newer versions of MacOS:
Press the keys Shift+Command+5 and a small panel menu will appear on your lower screen.
The icons to the left allows you to take a screenshot of the whole screen, a window or highlighted section and to the right will let you record the whole screen or a highlighted section.
There’s also a label called options where you can choose where you want your screenshots to be saved and other choices.
